Real-time control with no distractions

The SV-2 is designed to feel immediate. There’s no LCD screen and no menu-diving. Every control is on the front panel, always live and ready to adjust. Each knob can be pushed to return to its stored setting, and illuminated switches clearly indicate which effects or settings are active.

Sound selection is handled by two rotary dials, and eight central Favourite buttons provide instant access to your saved setups. A dedicated Panel Lock prevents accidental changes mid-performance - or from curious hands between sets!

A stunning collection of acoustic pianos

At its core, the SV-2 is a piano - and it shows. The acoustic piano sounds are captured from some of the world’s most respected German, Italian, Austrian, and Japanese instruments, delivered with full dynamic range and a natural sense of space and realism. Uprights, character pianos, honky-tonks, and tack pianos add personality and flavour, while two harpsichords offer classical detail with both French and Italian voicings.

These instruments are deeply expressive and perfectly suited to solo performance, songwriting, and layered textures. Whether you’re playing with a soft touch or full dynamic force, the SV-2 responds with clarity, colour, and natural resonance.

Vintage keys from across generations

The SV-2 offers a curated selection of classic electro-mechanical, transistorised, tape-based, analogue, and early digital EPs - all reproduced with stunning realism. Electric pianos include American tine and reed models, a Japanese electric grand, and a rare German EP. You'll also find multiple FM and hybrid voices, including the legendary Korg M1 piano.

Organs range from tonewheel and tube to transistor, with combo, jazz, rock, and cathedral variants. Clavinets, harpsichords, string machines, pads, choirs, brass, guitar and bass sounds, mallets, and layered or solo synths round out a broad and expressive sound palette.

Sound layering, splits and favourites

The SV-2 includes 72 onboard sounds and 64 memory slots for storing your custom setups. Each favourite can recall a split or layered combination of up to three sounds, complete with effect routing and parameter settings. Splits and layers are created using the free SV-2 Editor software, while split points can be adjusted directly from the front panel.

The SV-2 handles complex layers, held chords, and sustained passages with ease. Whether you’re stacking rich textures or performing tight left-hand splits, every voice remains detailed and defined.

Studio-grade effects and real valve warmth

The SV-2 includes six independent stages of signal processing, giving you the tools to shape and enhance your sound in real time. At its core is Korg’s Valve Reactor technology, featuring a genuine 12AX7A vacuum tube for natural saturation, warmth, and harmonic complexity.

Each effect is modelled after period-correct hardware and behaves like the original, including drive characteristics and dynamic range. Effects include compression, treble boost, vibrato, tremolo, wah, amp simulation, rotary speaker, modulation, tape echo, spring reverb, delay, and stereo limiting. Every stage can be tweaked from the front panel for quick, intuitive control.

Premium feel with a natural response

SV-2 features Korg’s RH3 graded hammer action keybed, which is weighted heavier at the bottom and lighter at the top, just like a grand piano. It responds with precision and depth, capturing every nuance of your playing. You can tailor the touch response using one of eight velocity curves to suit your style.

Eight tuning modes are available, including grand and upright stretch tunings, electric piano styles, detuned options, and two user-defined setups. Master tuning and transposition are also supported, making the SV-2 a flexible companion on stage and in the studio.

Expand your sound, personalise your setup

The SV-2 Editor software (available free for Mac and Windows) offers deep control of your instrument.

You can create and manage splits and layers, assign effect parameters, browse extended sound libraries, and load additional content released by Korg. It’s also a convenient tool for organising your Favourites and backing up your setups.

SV-2S: Integrated stereo sound

The SV-2S includes all the features of the SV-2, with one key addition: a built-in speaker system developed with Italian audio experts K-ARRAY. This full-range setup includes two 2.5-inch loudspeakers and dual 3-inch passive radiators, powered by twin 15-watt amplifiers. It delivers clear, powerful stereo sound in a format that’s ideal for the home, rehearsals, teaching environments, or intimate performance spaces.
