Operating System Version 2.02 Upgrade

Version 2.02 Operating System for the TRITON STUDIO features enhancements to certain functions and a handful of bug fixes.

If you have not yet updated your TRITON STUDIO to the Version 2.0, you will also want to download the TRITON STUDIO Version 2.0 Owner's Manual to learn about the many features added in O.S. 2. (See below.)

PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS:
Upgrading to Version 2.02 will initialize all data in the TRITON STUDIO!! Unless you save your data before you upgrade, all of your programs, combis, etc… may be lost.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: There are two different downloads available, please be sure you download the correct one for your needs, as listed below.

Tstudio_V201: Use this upgrade if your TRITON STUDIO is currently running on operating system version 1.0.2 or any earlier version.

Tstudio_V201e: Use this upgrade if your TRITON STUDIO is currently running on operating system version 1.0.3 or any later version.

We recommend that all users upgrade to this version to stay current.

Factory Preload
This download file contains the factory preload data (.PCG) that was originally installed on the TRITON STUDIO.

The original preload data is also backed up on the internal Hard Drive of the TRITON STUDIO. However, if for some reason that data is missing, you can use this file to restore the Programs, Combinations and Global settings of your keyboard.

This file is the .PCG data only. It does not include the 16MB of samples that were used to create the original demo songs, or the sequencer data for those songs. If you need this data as well, please contact your local Korg Distributor for assistance.

UnStuff or UnZip the download file, and copy the contents to a blank floppy disk. Insert the floppy into your TRITON STUDIO and chose "LOAD SELECTED" from the FDD Load Menu.

PCM09 "Trance Attack" Bonus Programs
Here's two additional Banks of Programs (256!) to use with the "Trance Attack" (EXB-PCM09) PCM expansion board for the Triton "Classic", Triton-Studio and Karma music workstations.

Karma owners can just open the Triton Classic PCG file and load only the Program Banks individually as they wish.

Concert Grand Piano PCG Data

This download contains the original factory data - Programs, Combinations, and Global data - found on the floppy disk included with the Concert Grand Piano EXB-PCM08.

The 32 Programs and 64 Combinations are created using the EXBPCM08 Sample Data. In order for these Programs and Combinations to sound correctly, the EXBPCM08 must be installed in your Korg keyboard.

The TRITON STUDIO models already contains the
necessary PCM data; so for TRITON STUDIO owners and users, downloading this .pcg file will provide an
additional 26 Programs and 64 Combinations.

Studio Soundbox Sound Collection
A treasure-trove of new sounds for your TRITON-series workstation. The first 64 all-new sounds were programmed by acclaimed LA synth programmer David Polich, who has made sounds for some of the top-selling synths of the last few years. These sounds cover a wide range of acoustic instrument emulations, with full controller assignments and arp settings.

Added to the file are some Programs made using only SAW waves to show off the synthesis power of the TRITON, made by Korg programmer Jack Hotop. Next up are the Lead sounds Jack made for Tom Coster which have been available on our site for some time now. Rounding out the collection are a group of dance/synth sounds developed during the PCM-09 Trance Attack project which use only ROM waveforms, so they can be used in any TRITON without needing the EXB-PCM09 board. Finally, we've included two template programs for using mono or stereo samples. The Bank will automatically load into the "E" Bank. A full name/category list is included in the download.

EH Sounds
A great collection of 128 new sounds programmed by Eric Hailstone, long-time synth programmer who has worked with all the top companies. The Bank is heavy on guitar emulations and blends, with some woodwinds, brass and leads also included. It loads into the "E" Bank automatically. A full name/category list is included in the download.

Syn-Thesis Sound Collection
A new collection of 128 Programs(complete with arp assignments) for the Triton Series instruments and the Karma Music Workstation. This set was programmed by Ray Legnini for Korg USA and included complete sound/controller documentation. Enjoy!

Note: The sounds are located in Bank E - Triton Le users should open the PCG file and load that Bank, or select Programs into the desired locations. Triton Studio/Triton Rack owners should load the Bank I-E into whichever EXB Bank they want.

Tom Coster Lead Sounds
A collection of powerful lead sounds originally designed by Jack Hotop for Tom Coster to use with his band Vital Information. Tom agreed to share these with all Triton/Karma owners - thanks Tom!

The file contains 1 Bank of Programs which will load into Bank INT-E. Karma owners should open the PCG file and load the E Bank into either Bank C or D. Triton Le owners should open the PCG file and load the individual Programs into the extra locations in Bank D.

Programming Tutorial plus PCG example file
A great tutorial on setting up all the powerful controllers on the Triton/Karma music workstations, including the realtime knobs, joystick, dynamic modulation and much more. Written by Korg USA's programming guru Jack Hotop.

This download also includes a special PCG file (SAW.PCG) showcasing the power of the HI synthesis system. Sixteen different categories of sounds are made only using a saw waveform! These examples are used to demonstrate all the tips on controllers.

The PCG file loads a single Bank of Programs into Bank INT-E. Karma owners should open the PCG file and load the E Bank into either Bank C or D. Triton Le owners should open the PCG file and load the individual Programs into the extra locations in Bank D.

EXB MOSS Z1 Files
The EXB-MOSS brings Korg's powerful MOSS (Multi-Oscillator Synthesis System) DSP Modeling Synthesizer to users of Karma, TRITON "Classic", TRITON STUDIO, TRITON Extreme and TRITON-Rack. The EXB MOSS board can be user installed in minutes!

We have taken all the MOSS voices that have been available in the past from Korg and optomized their parameters to work with the current EXB-MOSS board. This collection includes sounds from the Z-1 and from the Trinity Solo Board. These Trinity Solo sounds were in turn emulations of the original Prophecy sounds.

Tim Edwards' Bank of MOSS Sounds
This is a new Bank of MOSS sounds created by a loyal Korg user from the UK, Tim Edwards (known on the forums as Timo). Originally programmed for the Trinity MOSS-TRI, these cool and edgy sounds were converted in the Korg laboratories to TRITON format and then the controllers, arps and effects were edited (referencing Timo’s original Trinity settings) by Korg USA’s James Sajeva.

These sounds can be played on any Korg product equipped with the EXB-MOSS Option – TRITON Extreme, TRITON Classic, TRITON STUDIO, TRITON-Rack, and KARMA.

Free DrewMOSS soundset
A free collection of 36 new MOSS sounds programmed by original Z1 sound developer Andrew Schlesinger. These cool Programs can be used in Triton series instruments and the Karma Music Workstation when the MOSS DSP Synthesis option is installed. Enjoy!

MOSS ELP Lead
“MOSS ELP Lead” Program

Here is a great lead sound created using the EXB-MOSS board. So good we had to share it!

This sound was created by Jack Hotop for his demos at a recent NAMM show. According to Jack, he wanted a lead sound where he could easily morph between two different “ELP” type of sounds, so that he could continue to play on one program as the backing tracks moved from song to song. This sound was originally played on a TRITON using the Realtime Control Knobs to edit the Cutoff, Resonance and Release of the filter. The Ribbon controller was used to manipulate the Envelope settings.

Although this sound was originally created on the TRITON, it can be played on any Korg product equipped with the EXB-MOSS Option – TRITON Classic, TRITON STUDIO, TRITON-Rack, and KARMA.

You must have the EXB-MOSS board installed to use this sound.

Logic Environment
For the TRITON-STUDIO users who are also using the software program "LOGIC" from Emagic: This is a LOGIC environment, which supports choosing sounds by names, and is current through the EXB-PCM09 ("Trance Attack") soundset.

Also supported are 16 "track strips" - one for each MIDI channel, with every available parameter that can be modulated/controlled via MIDI. This actually allows more access than the the TRITON-STUDIO panel/screen itself.

EXB-MOSS PC application

MOSSquito: Freeware Z1->Triton EXB-MOSS converter for the PC

MOSSquito is a program that converts Z1-sysex (parameters for the Z1-sounds) into TritonMOSS-format (pcg). If the sounds exceed the 128 sound-limit, the MOSSquito makes another bank too, with the other sounds.
