This "zipped" download contains the most current Version 2.0.4 Operating System update for the M3, which fixes the communication error between a Macintosh computer with OSX 10.5.7 and the M3XPanded, as well as addressing a few small bugs.

Note: This upgrade can only be performed on an XPanded M3 Version 2.0 (If your M3 iis running a version below V2.0 please install V2.0 available below)

A full history of updates is included in this download, along with instructions on how to install the OS.

We recommend the use of the most current software to all users.

Warning: DO NOT attempt to downgrade your OS from 2.0.4 to 1.2 or earlier – this is not supported and will render your M3 inoperable without help from your local Distributor and Korg Inc. It is for this reason that we have removed all 1.x OS downloads from this site.

System Version 2.04 Upgrade

PC/MAC: M3XP_V204_E1.zip (4.1MB)

This "zipped" download contains the Version 2.0 Operating System update for the M3, which will upgrade your M3 to the M3 XPanded, providing revised PCM, new sequencer functions, an enhanced interface, free expansion PCM sets and new KARMA v2.2. Read more about the M3 XPanded upgrade.

Please note that you must also update your M3 Editor Software to version 2.0.

Important Note: This upgrade will rewrite the contents of the internal data such as the programs and combinations. If the internal memory of your M3 contains important data that you want to keep, you must use the Media mode “Save .PCG” or “Save All” commands to save it on your own USB storage device before you can proceed with this upgrade procedure. Any custom combis will have to be saved before the upgrade and then re-built after the upgrade is completed. Likewise, all your Songs will have to be converted to the new Program order after upgrading, referencing the new Voice name List. This update will also overwrite the data of effect presets P01–P15. If you’ve created effect presets, you should save them to U00–U15 before you proceed with the upgrade. When programs/ combinations that were saved by M3 version 1 are loaded into the M3 XPANDED, some sounds may not be completely identical.

EXB-RADIAS Version 2.0 Update
This “zipped” download contains the EXB-RADIAS System Version 2.0 update. EXB-RADIAS System Version 2.0 boasts 27 new destination parameters which have been added to the Virtual Patch function. A full listing of updates is included in this download.

Note: M3 Version 1.1.1 Operating System (or higher) is required.

EXB-RADIAS Version 2.0 Update

Editor Software for the M3 Music Workstation/Sampler. This version of the M3 Editor requires that your M3 Operating System is at version 2.0 or higher.

The Editor Software version 2.2.1 adds new features to improve operational ease as well as addressing a few small non-critical issues.

We always recommend that you use the latest updates.

Also included in the “zipped” file is a full list of the updates, and instructions for how to install editor.

New feature: A Jump function has been added to the overview display in the Play page of each mode. By clicking on the name of a parameter section in the overview, you can jump automatically to the page/tab for editing those parameters.

M3 Editor Software Version 1.5.2

This collection of 32 classic keyboard sounds was programmed by Jack Hotop to provide more expressive, natural sounding programs, with improved velocity switching (up to 8-way switching!). Constantly referring to classic recordings by top artists across many genres of music, special attention was paid to Controller Modeling for accurate Stereo Panning, Tremolo, Key Off, String Muting, and Tone Control.

Likewise, custom vintage FX assignments like Phase Shifter, Stereo Vintage Wah, Flanging, Stereo Tube PreAmp, Distortion, Ring Mod, Tape Echo, Reverb & more were designed to get the classic settings heard on the recordings that shaped the legacy of these timeless instruments.

Pad assignments, KARMA & Drum Track grooves are provided for every sound.

Two versions for the M3 Xpanded are provided:
• Regular uses G000 through U-G000

• If you want to load PCM-04 Option at the same time we have provided a “merged” version that loads these sounds into U-G027 through U-G058

Both PCG and Editor files are provided. For the Editor file you must select a BANK File, not an ALL file to be able to load them. This way you can load a complete single Bank rather than the whole state of your keyboard. For more info read the manual that came with your editor file.

These files require version 2.0 or higher.

M3 Pro Vintage Keys

This is a free collection of 128 Combis using the optional
EXB-RADIAS synth engine combined with the onboard EDS Programs. It covers a wide assortment of sounds, from playable splits and layers, to imaginative soundscapes, to examples of triggering the RADIAS vocoder with drum grooves and KARMA. A small selection of the Combis show the application of taking existing Preload Combis and swapping out some EDS parts for RADIAS timbres to take them to new heights.

We recommend you study the Combis to learn how the programmers took advantage of all the power of the M3's synthesis and effects, as well as the flexible Tone Adjust system. Enjoy!

There are two versions available for download:

This download contains the EX-USB-PCM04 expansion, which is the Stereo Piano PCM and Program data that was originally included in the M3 Version 1 system. It loads into sample RAM of the M3.

Operating requirements:
- M3 system software version 2.0.0 or later

System Requirements:
- USB storage device, such as a USB memory stick. The device must be MS-DOS formatted with more than 30MByte of empty space available.

M3 EX-USB-PCM04 V1 Stereo Piano

PRODUCER.PCG contains a re-ordered version of the standard factory Programs. When shipped from the factory, the sounds are presented in a mixed order, so that moving through Programs might call up a piano first, then a pad, then a drum kit, and so on. This factory preset order is stored on the M3 system data as the Preload PCG data.

In the PRODUCER.PCG file, on the other hand, these same sounds are grouped by category. As you move through the Programs, you'll find that all of the pianos are together, all of the pads are together, and so on. This lets you step through similar sounds by pressing INC and DEC, without using the Category window.

Note: When PRODUCER.PCG is loaded, the factory demo songs, Preset Template Songs, and any user Combination or Song data created with the Program data from Preload PCG will not sound properly.

M3 Producer Preset Data

This file contains a bank of 128 EXB-RADIAS Programs and 56 Combinations recreating the RADIAS Version2 artist sounds for use in the M3. All sounds have been converted from the RADIAS, assigned new effects, given Drum Track assignments and had the sliders set up for useful functions. A small group of sounds were even given basic KARMA assignments for your auditioning pleasure.

The sounds will load into Program and Combi banks U-F. Enjoy!

There are two versions available for download:

This download contains the External Mode Setup installation file for the M3. This download provides MIDI scene information for control over third-party applications from: Ableton, Arturia, Fruity Loops, Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, Garage Band, Reason, Steinberg and more. This download will also contain PDF descriptions of all the Scenes, a Read Me file, as well as some native support files for the applications.
