Program structure on the TRITON Extreme

Effect section with flexible routing for sonic creativity.
TRITON Extreme is equipped with five stereo insert effects, two master effects, one master EQ (stereo 3-band EQ), and the ability chain effects together, and modulate many of the parameters in realtime. With flexible routing, high-quality internal effects, and 24-bit full digital processing, you have a broad range of resources available to enhance your sound.
The TRITON Extreme provides 102 different types of effect. Any of these can be selected for an insert effect, and you can choose from 89 types for each master effect. The 102 effects include familiar standards, stereo random filter, ring modulator, vocoder and other unique effects. Effects can be applied to the internal sounds or to an external sound – even as it is being sampled. Resampling through the effects can stretch your polyphony and effects resources even further.

Newly developed Valve Force analog circuit employs a real vacuum tube to add warmth and fullness.

In a first for a music workstation, the TRITON Extreme features our new proprietary Valve Force circuit utilizing a 12AU7 (ECC82) vacuum tube, adding a natural depth and fat-sounding drive to your sounds that cannot be produced by any digital technology. The Valve Force circuit first acclaimed on Korg's Electribe•MX/SX units has been upgraded to consist of an Ultra Boost circuit plus a vacuum tube amp. You can use four parameters (Input Trim, Ultra Boost, Tube Gain, and Output Level) to control the effect, and these settings can be saved with each program, combination, or song. Stereo-in/stereo-out operation is provided by a single vacuum tube, and you can use Valve Force as an insertion or final effect, as well as in conjunction with other insert effects and the master effects.* Valve Force can be used to add definition and richness to an acoustic guitar, to add a bit of tube grunge to rock organ sounds, applied to analog drums to add club-like resonance, or used at the final stage of a sequence to enhance the overall sound.
* Valve Force cannot be used on the L/R output from S/P DIF, nor when resampling the L/R output in the various modes.

Using Valve Force as an insert effect.

After passing through the Valve Force circuit, the signal is either sent back to another effect bus, or to the L/R outputs. This way you can apply it before other effects such as delays, chorus, or reverbs etc. You can also apply Valve Force to the input signal from an external audio source when sampling it, or insert Valve Force into the playback while resampling.

Using Valve Force as a final effect

By applying Valve Force to the final stage of the analog audio output (from a program, combination, sample playback, or song), you can finalize the overall sound by giving it a light boost or subtle sense of overdrive.
