KORG Legacy Collection - ANALOG EDITION 2007 Virtual Instruments/Effects
A legendary character that is a true original of technology
The popular “MS-20” and “Polysix” from the KORG Legacy Collection are now joined by the “Mono/Poly,” classic Korg analog synthesizers newly reborn as software instruments in a powerful production package.
Main features
The eternally popular Mono/Poly, Polysix, and MS-20 analog synthesizers have been reincarnated as software by Korg, the original manufacturer, using cutting-edge CMT component modeling technology. The popular Legacy Cell software synthesizer, as well as two effects plug-ins MS-20FX and MDE-X, round out the offering.
Mono/Poly software synthesizer: The classic four-VCO monophonic/polyphonic synthesizer, now enhanced by numerous new functions such as two multi-effects and an amazing eight virtual patches, making this the ultimate form of this legendary instrument.
Polysix software synthesizer: Perfect software simulation of the six-voice polyphonic synthesizer, including its analog chorus/phase/ensemble effect. Functional enhancements include an expanded number of polyphonic/unison voices as well as many other new functions.
MS-20 software synthesizer: A complete replication of the semi-modular synthesizer famed for its strong personality in both sound and looks. An expanded number of polyphonic/unison voices and external modulation bring the MS-20 to the cutting edge of contemporary sound-creation.
Legacy Cell software synthesizer: A combination structure that lets you freely combine the Polysix and MS-20 software synthesizers with effects, so that they can be used as a single software synthesizer.
Effect plug-ins: The MS-20FX lets you use the MS-20 software synthesizer as an effect, and the MDE-X gives you a selection of nineteen effects from the Legacy Cell.
The new KORG Legacy Collection - ANALOG EDITION 2007
The KORG Legacy Collection series are packages that contain software versions of classic Korg synthesizers. Delivering perfect replications of the original sounds as well as many new functions that open up fresh possibilities, these software synthesizers have received the acclaim that you would expect from Korg, the original manufacturer of these instruments. A new analog edition line including the newly developed software version of the Mono/Poly has now been added to the series. This title also contains the Polysix and MS-20 software synthesizers that were included in the original KORG Legacy Collection, as well as the Legacy Cell combination structure that lets you combine these two synthesizers with effects, plus two effects plug-ins.
Proprietary CMT technology reproduces the circuitry performance of the original synthesizer
The Polysix, MS-20 and new Mono/Poly software synthesizers use Korg's proprietary CMT (Component Modeling Technology) to perfectly reproduce their sound and response. CMT reproduces not only the sound but also the character and response curve of each parameter, so that the results are completely faithful to the original model. Finally the complex sound and parameter response can be perfectly reproduced, delivering all the power and subtlety that up until now only true analog synthesis could provide.
Mono/Poly software synthesizer

The Mono/Poly is Korg's four-VCO monophonic/polyphonic synthesizer that went on sale in 1981 and was considered the culmination of Korg's experience building analog synthesizers. It was released at the same time as the Polysix, and because of their capabilities as well as their price, these two instruments caused a revolution in the synthesizer world. Many musicians acclaimed the Mono/Poly as Korg's best synthesizer yet, with a number of unique characteristics. It provided four VCOs, each providing adjustable pitch, waveform, octave, and level, which could be stacked together for massive sounds, or cycled through one at a time for constantly shifting timbres. Together with one VCF, one VCA, two EGs, and two MGs it provided a powerful yet accessible programming structure. But by far, its most signature characteristic was the Synchro and Cross Modulation functions that could run dual, or four-way cascaded modulation routings for creating revolutionary and aggressive tonal effects. It also featured the same futuristic Chord Memory and Arpeggiator functions as the Polysix. This diversity of parameters could be used to create an incredible universe of sounds ranging from thick and rich to sound-effect-like.
Along with being a complete reproduction of the original Mono/Poly, this new software version extends the Mono/Poly to its ultimate form. It features an amazing 128-voice polyphony with up to 16-voice unison, and a powerful eight-way virtual patching matrix. The virtual patch functionality lets you use 159 different modulation sources such as MG, EG, velocity, and keyboard tracking to modulate 35 different destinations such as oscillator pitch, level, filter, MG, or EG, giving you an awesome capability for creating complex and diverse sounds. Two integrated multi-effects provide 19 effects including compressor, limiter, overdrive, chorus, delay, reverb and more. All effects are editable and many provide dynamic modulation possibilities. 128 effects presets are included to speed up your sound creation and music production fun.
All of this means that the Mono/Poly software synthesizer succeeds in establishing its own unique sound that cannot be produced by any previous analog synthesizer or any current analog modeling synthesizer.
256 new Mono/Poly sounds developed by a worldwide team of synth programmers and remix artists are included, and will spark your imagination and become the sounds of a new era.
Polysix software synthesizer

The Polysix programmable six-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer was introduced in 1981. With a surprisingly full-sounding voice structure, chorus/phase/ensemble effects and performance functions such as chord memory, arpeggiator, and unison the Polysix became a world-wide hit. Its distinctive string and pad sounds are often heard to this day.
In addition to faithfully replicating the sound of the original, the Polysix software synthesizer also adds enhancements such as 32-voice polyphony (max), up to 16-voice unison (with detune/spread function), flexible external modulation settings, MIDI clock synchronization, and a spread function that adjusts the spaciousness of the effects --- functionality that brings this classic synthesizer up to date for modern music production.
The interface provides reorganized knobs and switches that resurrect the Polysix in a contemporary “rack-mountable” form for even more intuitive operation and sound-creating versatility.
MS-20 software synthesizer

Since the MS-20 went on sale in 1978, this semi-modular monophonic synthesizer has enjoyed unbroken popularity for its thick and solid sound, aggressive analog filters, and inexhaustible potential for creative patching. With two oscillators (which can be ring-modulated), high-pass/low-pass self-oscillating filters with unique distortion, and a patch section with an external signal processor that can accommodate external audio input, the MS-20 software synthesizer provides a complete simulation of its legendary original. In addition, it gives you modern advantages such as up to 32 voices of polyphony and up to 16-voice unison (with detune/spread function). Flexible external modulation settings and MIDI clock synchronization have also been added, giving you even greater creative potential. Along with the provided Programs, a number of templates are included providing instant setups for running audio through the filter and other commonly-used functions.
Legacy Cell --- use the Polysix, MS-20, and effects as a single software synthesizer

You can also use the effect section as the MDE-X multi-effect plug-ins with 19 different effect algorithms.
