AudioGate is Korg’s file format conversion software, allowing audio files to be converted between multiple DSD, 16-bit, 24-bit and other file formats; including Apple lossless and even MP3 formats. Now, AudioGate is available as a free download from Korg.

AudioGate was originally developed in partnership with Korg’s MR Series of hand-held, portable and studio mastering DSD recorders.  The ultra-high resolution of the DSD recording format allowed the creation of a master recording of superior fidelilty; one that could then be used to create additional masters in any audio format as needed. The same DSD master could be used to create a CD, DVD Audio, and MP3 file, etc. With additional separate, join, limiting, fade in/out and other file management tools, AudioGate was created to bring out the infinite potential of a DSD master, and is now being used in studios worldwide as an indispensable part of their recording.
AudioGate can also playback DSD files on your computer, processing the files in real time to take advantage of the hardware in your laptop or studio computer system. In addition to traditional digital “dithering,” AudioGate also offers Korg’s “AQUA” dithering which takes advantage of the physiology of human hearing to create a more musical result. AudioGate can also work between similar multi-bit formats, and can also provide up-conversion from other formats to DSD. In addition, it can read and write not only audio CDs but also DSD discs – including album art, title information, etc.
Previously, the only way to own AudioGate was to purchase a Korg MR Series recorder. Now, anyone interested in ultra-high resolution audio can enjoy the benefits of AudioGate. Beginning with Version 2.1, Korg AudioGate is now available as a free download, extending the full potential of DSD to everyone.

Main content of the update
1. Activation via Twitter account added
Even people who don't own a Korg MR Series product can now use AudioGate as a free user if they have a Twitter account. Since this greatly expands the environments in which DSD files can be played and converted, it provides advantages even for existing MR users, since it allows easier distribution of DSD files in their original form.
* There are some limitations for free users who do not own a Korg MR Series product. For details, refer to "Limitations for free users."

2. Auto Tweet function added
If you turn on this function, AudioGate will automatically tweet from your Twitter account (when activating, exporting, or creating a disc).
* A dialog box asking you to confirm the content of the tweet will always appear before the tweet is sent. AudioGate will never tweet without your permission.

3. Auto Update function
Now you can check for updates and download the latest version directly from AudioGate. Keeping your copy of AudioGate up to date will ensure optimal performance and stability.

Limitations for free users
1. User support will not be available from Korg Inc. nor from its regional distributers.
2. It is not possible to turn off the Auto Tweet function.
* Internet access is required when activating, exporting, or creating a disc.
* You must allow AudioGate to automatically tweet to your Twitter account.

• Supported OS: Windows XP Home Edition/Professional Edition Service Pack 3 (32bit),
• Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (32bit, 64bit), Windows 7 (32bit, 64bit)
• Supported Computers: Intel Pentium III/1GHz or faster
• Memory: 256MB or larger (512 or larger recommended)
• Either of the following is required for software activation:
• A KORG MR Series product and a USB port that meets the operating requirements of Windows
• Internet connection and a valid Twitter account
• A writable CD/DVD drive is required in order to create audio CDs or DSD discs.

Mac OS X

• Supported OS: Mac OS X 10.4 or later
• Supported Computers: Apple G4/800MHz or faster (Intel-based Mac recommended)
• Memory: 256MB or larger (512 or larger recommended)
• Either of the following is required for software activation:
• A KORG MR Series product and a USB port that meets the operating requirements of Mac OS X
• Internet connection and a valid Twitter account
• A writable CD/DVD drive is required in order to create audio CDs or DSD discs.
