• Download the file karmapl.zip.
• Use Winzip or similar program to unzip to a temporary directory.
• Copy the unzipped files to a MS-DOS formatted DSHD floppy disks (format these on Karma beforehand to ensure correct type of format).
• Load the preload via DISK mode as described in the owner's manual.

Karma Version 2.0 represents a major change to the Karma operating system, offering many new features and enhancements. Also, Version 2.0 is required when using the new KARMA MW Software on your Mac or Windows PC.

"How to" Instructions

You MUST load both the 3 Operating System disks and the 2 User GE disks to complete the Version 2.0 upgrade to your Karma.

NOTE: Loading Version 2.0 will erase all the Programs, Combinations and Global data in your Karma. If you have created or loaded any custom Programs, Combinations or Global settings, you will want to back these up before you upgrade to Version 2.0. A revised Preload disk ( The Original Factory pre-load, optimised for Version 2.0 ) is included in this download.

We recommend that you always use the most current software.

This dowload file contains the factory preload data (.PCG), revised for use with Operating System 2.0

This file does not contain new Programs or Combinations; Instead, the original Preload data has been optimised for use with Karma Version 2.0.

This is the same .PCG data that is included with the Karma Version 2.0 download, although this file contains the demo song (.SNG) as well.

Programs, Combinations, and Global data - found on the floppy disk included with the Concert Grand Piano EXB-PCM08. The 32 Programs and 64 Combinations are created using the EXB-PCM08 Sample Data. In order for these Programs and Combinations to sound correctly, the EXB-PCM08 must be installed in your Korg keyboard.

This is the operating system for Karma keyboards (Dec 2001) Only upgrade your Karma OS if you have an earlier version (Your version number is briefly displayed on Karma's "wake-up" screen on powering up). (Please Note a later version 2 is now available)

• Download the file and use Winzip, Aladdin or similar program to unzip to a temporary directory.
• You should have three directories - disk1, disk2 and disk3. You will also have instructions for upgrading in the file readme.txt
• Open each directory and copy the CONTENTS (not the directories) to three MS-DOS formatted DSHD floppy disks and label them disk1, disk2 and disk3. (IF YOU COPY THE DIRECTORIES, IT WILL NOT WORK!)
• Carefully read the instruction file for details on how to load the OS into Karma. Please follow the instructions carefully as incorrect procedure can cause data corruption to the internal ROM.
